Y13 UCAS decisions update:
There has been another date change for the UCAS decision deadline. Most students have accepted their firm and insurance choice but for those that have yet still to do it, please take note of the new date below. Students should have been notified directly by UCAS.
There is now only one undergraduate decision deadline for applicants that have received all of their decisions from universities and colleges by 4 June. They will need to reply to any offers by 18:00 (UK time) on 18 June.

AHS Journey Challenge Week 3
Personal Reflection
Use this time to reflect upon your strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes we all need to step back and consider what we’re good at and what we need to be better at!
Have a look at YouTube blogger Emma Blackery’s video “What’ my direction” where she talks about her strategies to understand her strengths and weaknesses.

Then consider your own strengths and weaknesses. What can you do to address these? Use Barclay’s link here to help: https://barclayslifeskills.com/i-want-to-choose-my-next-step/school/wheel-of-strengths

A Level Results:
We have received notification today that Year 13 will receive their results on Thursday 13th August. This includes both A Level and BTEC qualifications. This is the date the real exam results would have been released, but later than originally anticipated for these predicted grades. We will send further details of results day in due course. In the meantime should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
BTEC grades:
We should receive final word on how BTEC results will be calculated following the Easter break. We will send an update as soon as we have it. Students should continue to work to deadline in the meantime.

AHS Journey Challenge Week 2
Personal Reflection
In these uncertain times, it can seem we have no control. However, the decisions we make, at any point but particularly in adversity, can make a huge difference to us.
Caspar Berry played professional poker for three years in Las Vegas before finding himself as the poker advisor on the James Bond Movie ‘Casino Royale’. He talks about uncertainty and decision making that brings us at our best.

AHS Journey Challenge Week 1
Personal Reflection
Like the Year 11s, this has been a really challenging time for Year 13 and you may feel uncertain about your future. However, there is lots to celebrate:
Over the last week, have you:
- Thought about your favourite memories of AHS?
- Thought about what you want to achieve next?
Thought about what you’d advise other students who are about to start Sixth Form in September?

Morning All
I hope you are keeping yourselves busy and enjoying time with you families. Below are a few updates. Thank you for your continued patience in what is a very challenging time.
Y13 Predictions:
We anticipate notification from the government this week on how to generate predicted grades for you. At this time we have no further information than previous, for now we ask you continue with your coursework until we have official word and grades are hoped to be distributed in July. Once we are updated we will communicate it with you. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Y13 UCAS update:
You may have received an email from UCAS to tell you they were extending May’s UCAS Undergraduate decision and reply deadlines following an announcement from the government, asking universities and colleges in England to hold back from making unconditional offers or amending existing offers.
The new dates are below:
Original date | UCAS Undergraduate deadline | New date |
5 May 2020 | The deadline for applicants to reply to any offers received by 31 March 2020. | 19 May 2020 |
6 May 2020 | The deadline for universities and colleges to make decisions and reply to applications received by 15 January 2020. | 20 May 2020 |
These dates have been updated in Track, and UCAS have emailed applicants to let them know if their deadlines have changed. Most of you have already made your firm and insurance choice, in which case this makes no difference. Should you have any questions regarding this then please do get in touch.
