Our School Values

Our school values of Justice, Compassion, Forgiveness and Trust are ‘lived into being’ by both students and staff.
They permeate all areas of school life and represent a shared vision across the entire school community.
The AHS Journey
The AHS Journey is everything we do in order to ensure students leave us with the capacity to maximise their life chances. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to reflect upon and identify their own character whilst understanding their place within the wider world. No two students’ journey will be the same, however, they will share similar experiences and opportunities in order to shape who they are and what they believe.
Introducing the AHS Arts Award

An exciting new addition to the AHS curriculum for September 2020 is the Arts Award in Year 9. As a school, we are passionate about ensuring students have as enriching of an experience as possible, and the Arts Award will contribute to the breadth and depth of the Archbishop Holgate’s curriculum during this important transition year. Focusing on developing creative, practical skills in Art, Music, Food, Technology and Modern Foreign Languages, not only is the Arts Award a fun and engaging experience, but we aim to ensure that every student in Year 9 achieves this national qualification.
We hope you are all as excited as we are to get this up and running in September – the Arts Award is certainly an excellent way to help students in Year 9 to develop at their stage of the Archbishop Holgate’s School Journey in ‘Understanding themselves and others’. From September 2021 this will be rolled out to all of Key Stage 3, with Year 7 and 8 working towards the Bronze Award.
