As Lead Partner with York St John University we offer a school-centred approach to Initial Teacher Education. Our Initial Teacher Training courses take one school year to complete and lead to Qualified Teacher Status and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. We offer routes in both primary and secondary settings.

The teaching school is based at Archbishop Holgate’s School. Partnering with Ebor Academy Trust, Heartwood Learning Trust and Joseph Rowntree School, we have a large partnership of both primary and secondary schools in York, North Yorkshire and the East Riding. This enables us to offer a variety of placement contexts and provide a truly rounded teacher training experience.
