English Intervention Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to work as part of a friendly, collegiate, successful and hardworking English department and Intervention team.

We believe that Archbishop Holgate’s is ‘no ordinary school’ and is an excellent place to work.   Maths is a high performing collegiate department which fosters a real love of Maths in the students they teach.  The department has enjoyed success in recent years on the reformed GCSE, securing Progress 8 outcomes in excess of +0.30 for the last three years, with a 4 plus figure of 80% in 2019, making it the best performing maths department in the city.  Maths remains one of the most popular subjects at Post 16 with both Maths and Further Maths being offered. The Maths department moved to a new state of the art building in September 2020.

Our staff are friendly and supportive and our students are polite, hardworking and keen to succeed.  As such this post represents an exciting opportunity to join a very successful, high-achieving, forward looking and fully-subscribed Church of England comprehensive, a school judged Outstanding by Ofsted with outstanding leadership and outstanding capacity to continue to improve.

Teaching Assistant Level 3/4 – SEN support

TA Level 3 (Grade 6) pro rata salary – £19,652
TA Level 4 (Grade 7) pro rata salary – £22,293
32½ hours per week, Full Year

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Archbishop Holgate’s for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist team to provide 2:1 SEN support  for a child joining the school this September.

As part of the team, not only will you be providing close personal care, but also supporting class teachers with the planning and adaptation of resources to provide a quality learning environment for the student.  The ideal candidate will:

  • Have relevant qualifications and experience in working with children, ideally with experience
    with those with complex additional needs.
  • Be flexible in their approach to the needs of the child.
  • Have high expectations of all children.
  • Be willing to take part in relevant CPD in order to support the child.
  • Be able to work with outside agencies and communicate with parents.

This post is specific to the child’s needs which will be reviewed regularly.

School Assistant – Sign Support (BSL Level 2)

Grade 4 – £14,266 per annum (this is the pro rata salary)
Permanent, Part Time (32.5 hours per week), from 8.20am – 3.20pm, term time only

We are looking for a specialist School Assistant to provide signing support at Archbishop Holgate’s School in a range of learning settings by fostering a positive working environment, so that students are engaged, on task and able to access the curriculum as fully as possible. For this specialist role you must have BSL Level 2 and be confident and proficient in signing in all areas of the curriculum and wider school life.
