Post-16 Results
The Post-16 results are a fantastic achievement for our students and we are delighted for all of them. These results continue our pattern of outstanding performance at post-16 and demonstrate the hard work, commitment and aspiration of the young people within our care. Each student has persevered through what is not an easy two years of study. Their efforts have resulted in:
- 40% of all Grades A* to A
- 79% of all entries A* to B
- Average Grade B+
- 100% of all entries A* to E
Mrs De Lashley, Head of Sixth Form said: “We are so excited for what is to come in the future for this cohort. They have met and exceeded their own expectations and should feel extremely proud of what they have achieved. They have been determined and continued to take up opportunities to develop themselves personally alongside their commitment to study – what an achievement! We wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about all of their successes to come.”
Executive Headteacher, Andrew Daly, said: “We are immensely proud of the achievements our students have made during their time at Archbishop Holgate’s, both academically and personally. Our students’ results are the culmination of two years of hard work and determination and we are delighted to be celebrating their successes with them today.
Thank you to our outstanding and dedicated team of staff for all their efforts and the unwavering support from parents and carers in helping our students to achieve their very best.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our Year 13 students, many of whom have been at Archbishop Holgate’s for the past seven years, for the many contributions they have made to our school and the wider community, we wish you all the very best for the future.”
GCSE Results
Following the excellent Sixth Form results last week, we are delighted that our Year 11 students have also performed well across the full range of GCSE and BTEC qualifications. Their results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of the students, their families and our dedicated teams of staff.
Despite being affected by the pandemic at the start of their education journey in Year 7, the students have risen to the challenges of the GCSE qualifications, demonstrating a great deal of diligence, resilience and a determination to succeed. Our Year 11 students will now move on to a range of exciting next steps with many of them joining our Sixth Form in September.
We are pleased to say that 82% of all students passed their English GCSE with 75% passing their Maths GCSE. There were also strong performances in Science, RE and across the full range of humanities subjects and vocational qualifications.
Miss Deacon, Head of Year 11, said: “It has been fantastic to celebrate the GCSE results with our students and their families today, and to see so many of them delighted with their outcomes. As they progress onto Sixth Form, an apprenticeship or employment I hope they take with them all they have learned and experienced during their time at Archbishop Holgate’s. They should be rightly proud of all their success and achievements, and on behalf of the Year 11 pastoral team, I wish them every success in the future.”
Mrs De Lashley, Head of Sixth Form said: “We are delighted with the achievements of our students and the opportunities for their future progression. Most students joining the Sixth Form will be looking forward to starting their A Levels or Level 3 BTECs very soon. We are always delighted to welcome so many ambitious and hard-working students back into our outstanding Sixth Form.”
