In June and July, to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of York’s designation as a UNESCO City of Media Arts, Archbishop Holgate’s students filmed a short documentary about the 478-year history of the school. Aesthetica Magazine, and special effects company Virdian, both based in York, ran the project together with PQA. Together with films from other local schools, the documentary was screened within the Aesthetica Film Festival on November 9th at City Screen in York.

Students from across year groups worked with Mr Shaw and Mrs Paver to explore the school’s fascinating history from 1546. They attended workshops with creative industries professionals and then conducted historical research and film-making. You can watch the film here.
